FROM AIRPORT TO URBAN PARK:

PARQUE DO ARARIPE, A PROPOSAL FOR OURICURI-PE

Abstract

Thinking about providing a better quality of life for the inhabitants, the proposal for an Urban Park appears as an opportune idea to bring new meanings and values, both to the population of the city of Ouricuri and to those who frequent it. The chosen place is the land of the city's old airport, which was deactivated more than 15 years ago, which today is within the urban fabric, becoming a large idle space, which instigates an urban requalification that, with the context of the Urban Park, will return contemplative, recreation and leisure spaces to the population. Thus, the main objective of the work was to develop an urban-landscape project, at a preliminary study level, for the implementation of an Urban Park on the land of the old Ouricuri airport, in the city of Ouricuri, Pernambuco. The specific objectives are: to propose multiple public spaces that meet the population's demands for leisure and recreation activities; promote the appreciation of vegetation in the caatinga biome; (under Fernando Chacel's concept of ecogenesis); establish connections between the proposed park and the urban fabric in its immediate surroundings, through the point of view of the road, cultural and natural system.
