Abstract

This work consists of addressing a physical phenomenon, atmospheric electrical discharges, to teach
electrostatic concepts. To make teaching this topic more interesting and dynamic, a Van de Graaff
generator was used mounted on a Master's Educational Product. An Investigative Teaching Sequence
(SEI) was used during the application of this work, which had 3 stages, which was divided into
presentation of the project to students with the resolution of a diagnostic questionnaire, experimental
activity using the Van de Graaff generator and reapplication questionnaire with lecture on concepts of
electrostatics and means of protection against atmospheric electrical discharges.
