Abstract

The objective of this research was to implement and evaluate a new didactic game, The Aedes aegypti Quí-Mico game, with a proposal to significantly improve student learning using a playful tool. The Aedes aegypti Quí-Mico game was applied to a 1st year high school class with a total of 34 students. The game was prepared according to the content determined in the composition matrix and it was carried out at the school following the calendar. The Aedes aegypti Quí-Mico game consists of 63 cards, 62 pairs of questions and answers, card number 63 is the “Mico” and the player who was selected had to bluff to avoid losing the game. The Aedes aegypti Quí-Mico game, as a facilitating resource for teaching the aforementioned content, achieved its objective. This can be verified through the analysis of the answers to the questionnaire administered, in which the students managed to overcome their deficiencies in relation to the chemistry of Aedes aegypti. It is extremely important to highlight that the game alone is not enough to promote solid learning, but this playful tool is extremely positive for consolidating knowledge built from theory. Therefore, the game used in this research is a tool that was well planned and implemented, which is why it substantially facilitated the teaching-learning process for those involved.
