Abstract

Water is essential for vital needs, waste transport, cooling machinery, irrigation, energy production, recreation and others. Their availability in the environment should take place both in quantity and adequate quality. Thereby preserving the aquatic environment has been a topic increasingly discussed and studied today. This study aimed to analyze the stream water quality Mutuca Gurupi - TO in terms of physical, chemical and biological parameters: temperature, hydrogen potential (pH), alkalinity, ammonia, chlorine, chloride, color, turbidity, total hardness , iron, oxygen consumed (OC), total and fecal coliforms. Thus, it was observed, on the results obtained, the water body has a relatively satisfactory quality when compared to the limits established by legislation, and changes in results occurred due to the effect of seasonality. The monitoring of water plays an important role in the quest for sustainable use of water resources.
