Abstract

The present research, stemming from a broader study, is being conducted within the context of the Postgraduate Program in Education in the Amazon (PGEDA) at UFPA-UFT, focusing on the complex intersections of contemporary education, particularly in the field of Distance Education (DE) within cyberculture, with an emphasis on student authorship in these teaching modalities. This segment of the research, presented in this article, focuses on a case study conducted in a DE course at the State University of Tocantins (UNITINS) from 2021 to 2023, investigating aspects related to student authorship such as access, usability, interaction, knowledge production, problem-solving, and autonomy. The study, based on literature review, highlights the gap in academic production regarding authorship in DE courses, especially from research conducted in stricto sensu postgraduate programs in Brazil in recent years. The pedagogy of authorship in the context of DE is explored, emphasizing the importance of students' creativity and collaboration, the training of tutors and teachers, as well as the use of new cyberculture technologies to offer greater customization of virtual environments and enhance student productions in this specific distance learning context.
