Cinema Brasileiro e Erotismo durante a Ditadura Militar

Abstract

This paper seeks to think about eroticism in Brazilian cinema at the time of the military dictatorship (1964-1985). For that purpose we used the films "Dona Flor and her two husbands", 1976, and "The lady on the bus", 1978. Such films can help us to think about the cinematic eroticism of the period. This research is presented as a bibliographical one of theoretical nature. We think that this subject is relevant to understand about the critical possibilities of Brazilian cinema. The results of this work show the fundamental importance of cinema as a weapon of aesthetic resistance during the military period and that the use of eroticism in the cinematographic productions of the time was part of the questioning mechanism against the censorship regime imposed on the arts.
