School spaces and times dedicated to movement in early early education

Abstract

Early childhood education, the first stage of basic education, goes through different advances and challenges, as it permeates two axes, caring and educating. With this in mind, the general theme of this work covers early childhood education and play, considering that one of the main ways of developing children in the schooling process is through play and interaction. Given this context, the objective is to analyze the space dedicated to playing in early childhood education. Based on the descriptive method of a qualitative nature. Thus, 4 schools were visited, two public and two private, located in the city of Miracema do Tocantins/TO. Our data reveal that public institutions have neglected play, not allocating or adapting spaces for it. Private institutions have recognized their potential and allocated resources and infrastructure for practices through play. Therefore, it is necessary to invest resources and time to improve the spaces intended for play in public schools in Miracema/TO, with the aim of mitigating the problems created in the educational offer aimed at early childhood.
