Abstract

The Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (Pibid) works in schools located in more economically vulnerable neighbourhoods, contributing significantly to the academic trajectory, as it allows, from the first period of the course, the graduating student's contact with the school environment, which would only occur in the Supervised Internship. Thus, the fear and insecurity that surround many undergraduates, dissipate in the theory-practice relationship, right at the beginning of graduation, preventing evasion and promoting the training of teachers committed to a liberating education. Our objective here is to demonstrate the importance of Pibid in teacher training and, consequently, in the improvement of teaching in basic public schools, through the process of elaboration and execution of a didactic sequence (DOLZ, NOVERRAZ, SCHNEUWLY, 2004) on comics as textual genre, with a final production on racial prejudice, from the perspective of multiliteracies (KALANTZIS, COPE, PINHEIRO, 2020) and according to the National Common Curricular Base (BRASIL, 2018) in six workshops in a state school after almost total online activity on Pibid (2020-2022). It was a work developed through action research with a descriptive qualitative approach in which we associate the experiences obtained in this process with the studies by Libâneo (1999) and Paulo Freire (2004). The students demonstrated creativity, criticality and linguistic development in their final productions.
