A REPRESENTAÇÃO DO GARIMPO NA LITERATURA

Abstract

Abstract: To discuss the representation of mining in the literature, this article aims to work with the works of Brasiliense (2006), Maccaggi (2012) and Kopenawa and Albert (2015). In this sense, traces of the reality of the common space of the mining will be pointed out, significant differences in the construction of the characters' identities will be investigated and the change from the traveling narrator subject to the native and indigenous narrator, in the case of Kopenawa and Albert. To this end, descriptive images and discursive constructions used in these works will be raised, to highlight the mining space and the relations of exploration, domination and usurpation experienced by the characters. In the composition of the analysis method, it is intended to develop and understand the divergences in the construction of the garimpeiro identity. These works are in line with the theme of representation of the mining space, but do not converge in the perspective of building spaces and the subjects who experience it, given the relationship between man and exploration and the consequences of the activity rooted in the history of Brazil. Thus, theoretical texts, such as Marxism and Literature, by Raymond Wiliams, will still be the object of investigation. Culture and representation. The treatment of these themes harbors different representations on the issue of the mining space as a legacy of colonialism that still persists and permeates identities.
