Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The paper uses the model available in the Article Model in the guidelines for authors.
  • The paper does not have identification of the authors. Information about the authors will be included in the submission metadata.
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in ‘Comments to the Editor’.
  • The files for submission are in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format.
  • The contribution is written in Times New Roman, size 12; A4 format; line spacing 1.5; 2.5cm top and bottom margins and 3.0cm right and left margins, paragraph 1.25cm
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, in the section About the Journal.
  • The whole text was previously revised before being presented to the Journal
  • The paper presents abstract and keywords.

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines for publication

  1. Articles must be submitted through the Journal’s website, creating login and password, in the Submissions link.
  2. Papers must be unpublished and may be written in Portuguese, German, Spanish, French, English and Brazilian Sign Language – Libras (SignWriting).
  3. Articles must have a minimum of 10 pages and a maximum of 25 pages. References, appendices and attachments will not be counted in this count.
  4. Reviews should have a minimum of 3 pages and a maximum of 5 pages. Book reviews published in Brazil in the last 2 years and abroad in the last 3 years will be accepted.
  5. Papers must have the following characteristics: they must be written in Times New Roman font, size 12; A4 format; line spacing 1.5; upper and lower margins of 2.5 cm and the right and left margins of 3.0 cm, paragraph 1.25 cm.
  6. The first page of the text must contain the title of the work in English, only the initials in capital letters, centered, bold. One line below the title, the title in Portuguese should be inserted, centered, only the initials in capital letters. Titles must have Times New Roman font, size 12, space between lines of 1.5 cm.
  7. Articles must not contain identification of the authors, as the journal adopts blind peer review. The data on the author (s) must be inserted after the paper’s being accepted.
  8. Articles must contain Abstract, with a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 250 words, single line spacing, Times New Roman font, size 11, without indentation, in a single paragraph, which must be two lines after author identification. Right after the abstract, the keywords (minimum of three and maximum of five) must be separated by semicolons. Authors may include, in addition to abstracts in English and Portuguese, abstracts in other languages ​​such as German, Spanish, French and Libras (SignWriting).
  9. For bibliographic citations in the text, use the following instructions: (AUTHOR, date, page), or when the author has already been cited, insert only (date, page). The titles of the works cited must be in italics. Ex .: (COETZEE, 1981, p. 12) or, Coetzee… (1981, p. 12).
  10. Section titles should be numbered with Arabic numerals, without numbering the introduction, conclusion and references. All section titles, including introduction, conclusion and references, must be left aligned and in bold.
  11. Citations with up to three lines must appear in the body of the text, between quotation marks, in the same font as the body of the text. Citations with more than three lines must be separated from the text, single-spaced, Times New Roman, size 10, with 3 cm from the left margin of the text.
  12. Footnotes should appear at the bottom of the page, in Times New Roman, font 10, single space. Foreign language citations in the body of the text must be translated in the footnotes.
  13. Tables, images and graphs must be centralized, with a numbered caption with Arabic numerals. Captions must contain the source of the images, even if it is from the author. Tables must have Times New Roman font, size 10.
  14. Appendices and attachments must follow the references, in Times New Roman, size 10, single spaced.
  15. References must appear at the end of the text, in alphabetical order, and must comply with ABNT rules.

Book: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Author’s Name (capital letters only). Title of the work in italics. Translation. Edition. City of publication: publisher, year of publication.

In case of more than one author, use a semicolon between the authors’ names. If the article cites two works by the same author, published in the same year, the difference must be establihed by inserting sequential letters after the date (1991a, 1991b, 1991c, etc.), both in the text and in the references.

Book Chapter: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Author’s Name (capital letters only). Chapter title. Followed by the Preposition In: SURNAME, Author Name (initials only). (Org.) If necessary. Title of the work in italics. Translation. Edition. City of publication: publisher, year of publication.

In case of more than one author, use a semicolon between the authors' names.

Journals: AUTHOR'S LAST NAME, Author’s Name (capital letters only). Title of Article. Name of the Journal in italics. Volume (Vol.), Issue (N.), number of pages, date of publication.

In case of more than one author, use a semicolon between the authors’ names.

DOSSIÊ

Os Dossiês temáticos estão assim estruturados: um dossiê temático para os Estudos Literários e outro dossiê temático para os Estudos Linguísticos, bem como suas interfaces. 

ESTUDOS LINGUÍSTICOS

Esta seção contemplará artigos da área de Estudos Linguísticos que não abordem a temática do Dossiê da revista. A seção de Estudos Linguísticos receberá artigos em Fluxo Contínuo. 

ESTUDOS LITERÁRIOS

Esta seção contemplará artigos dos Estudos Literários, que não abordem a temática do Dossiê da revista. A seção de Estudos Literários receberá artigos em Fluxo Contínuo. 

SEÇÃO LIVRE

Esta seção contemplará artigos da área de Letras, Linguística, Estudos Culturais e Artes, que não abordem a temática do Dossiê da revista. A Seção Livre recebe artigos e ensaios em Fluxo Contínuo.

RESENHAS

A seção de Resenhas publicará resenhas de livros publicados no Brasil nos últimos 2 anos, ou de livros publicados no exterior nos últimos 3 anos. A seção de Resenhas receberá textos em Fluxo Contínuo. 

Desafios da Educação e da Pesquisa no Contexto da Amazônia Brasileira

Esta seção especial receberá somente artigos aprovados no IV Encontro do Grupo de Estudos Linguísticos e Literários do Norte - GELLNORTE 

LÍNGUA BRASILEIRA DE SINAIS (LIBRAS)

Essa seção publica artigos referentes à Língua Brasileira de Sinais, bem como outras Línguas de Sinais em uso no Brasil.
