Por uma História da Linguística na História da Linguística?

Resumo

Trata-se de repensar como, reflexivamente, a constituição histórica das ideias linguísticas intervêm de maneira explícita (mais ou menos explícita) nos próprios gramáticos ou linguistas em diferentes períodos. A questão que nós colocamos, em suma, é a de saber que consciência meta-histórica (ou historiográfica) gramáticos e linguistas possuem das categorias descritivas e explicativas que eles mobilizam. Qual(is) estatuto(s) concedem à temporalidade que afeta os instrumentos dos quais se servem no seu trabalho de descrição das línguas, de explicação dos fatos linguísticos? Quais “usos da história” fazem, preconizam, criticam? A dimensão histórica é uma peça essencial da “consciência disciplinar” dos linguistas? Qual o grau de pertinência explicativa dessa noção? Em quais condições ela é “objetivável”? Até que ponto o recurso que por vezes fazem ao passado da disciplina é afiançado pelo historiador? Que nível de descrição/ explicação histórica o historiador pode ou deve considerar? Existem escansões nessa segunda temporalidade próprias ao desenvolvimento das ideias linguísticas? Onde elas se situam? De que natureza são? etc. Nós apresentamos aqui o quadro de uma pesquisa em curso.
