Abstract

The objective of this study was to discuss the use of geotechnologies as a didactic resource for Geography classes in basic education. It is the result of experiences through the Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBID) during the Covid-19 pandemic. The methodology used was a literature review and the use of information contained in the report on the performance of the action called “environment week”, carried out by PIBID graduates. It took place remotely, using technological equipment for its transmission and effectiveness, making use of geotechnologies that directed the curricular content to the student's daily life. As a result, we highlight the relevance of using geotechnologies and content that bring students' reality to geography teaching. We evidenced the wealth of teaching experience provided to undergraduate students, in their insertion in the public school, as they become the protagonist of the challenges and overcoming the problems identified in teaching and learning. We also highlight the need for advances in the implementation of technologies in education, and that the ongoing process, even though it was driven by the pandemic, cannot go backwards.
