Abstract

This work sought to investigate the contributions of the actions of the Institutional Scholarship Program for Teaching Initiation - PIBID in training of undergraduates in Chemistry. The research was carried out with 6 scholarship students of Licentiate in Chemistry course at the Federal University of North Tocantins. Data were collected through the analysis of fellows' reports. By analyzing their reports, it was possible to identify that the students' experience in the field of their future professional activities provides them with a proximity between theory and practice, the development of reading and writing skills and the appropriation of teaching methodologies that dialogue with current pedagogical trends. In general, the results indicate that the experience of undergraduates at PIBID has promoted the consolidation of an initiation to practical and, above all, reflective teaching, allowing for an understanding of some processes inherent to teacher training.
