Abstract

This work intends to analyze the role and possibilities of intervention of the psychologist in the School Health Program (PSE) from the experience with a group of children and adolescents enrolled in an integral education class. This action was carried out through a partnership between a Family Health Unit (USF) in the city of Vitória-ES, a Municipal Elementary School located in the same territory and the Federal University of Espírito Santo. From this experience, it was possible to apprehend the potential of the psychologist's performance and the challenges experienced by this professional in the context of the PSE. The study has a qualitative character and was built with the aid of field diaries prepared during the group experience. The results showed the importance of the psychologist within the actions of the PSE as a professional who makes up a care network and is not limited only to individualized care or exclusively preventive programs.
