Abstract

In this article we present a proof (accessible to high school students) of an important corollary of the Bolzano-Cauchy Theorem that guarantees, under certain conditions, roots of polynomial equations. We expose the theoretical results necessary for a desirable understanding of it, always illustrating them through examples and comments. And finally, we seek to show the importance of the Corollary by presenting some of its various applications.
