O Fator Multicultural Presente em Sala de Aula no Filme "Entre os Muros da Escola"

Abstract

In this article, we will discuss the multicultural factor in postmodernity and the challenges that this brings not only to today's society, but also in many of its spheres. Laurent Cantet's film Between the Walls of the School (2008) addresses the educational issue and provides a reflection on how to deal with such multiculturalism within the classroom, and the identity construction of students, highlighting the role of the educator and the challenges faced by it within its scope of work. Our methodological proposal consists of the analytical study of some scenes and frames of the film. As a theoretical reference, we consider authors such as Stuart Hall, Pierre Bourdieu and Paulo Freire, as well as film theorists such as André Bazin and Marcel Martin among others. Based on cinematic reading, we will also discuss the film's proposal to address the difficulties encountered, not only by the teacher, but also among the students themselves to deal with different cultures, religions and even ways of dressing.
