Abstract

In Os naufragios de Camoes (Mario Claudio, 2017), three versions are defended about the authorship of Os Lusiadas, but it is the last one, that of a curious namesake of the writer from Porto, which will define the truth within the scope of the novel. In the construction of this text that is woven on the margins of reality, fiction approaches the encounter between characters from different times, but who meet in the eternity of the short film O Velho do Restelo (Manoel de Oliveira, 2014). Thus, I try to highlight some elements of the Camonian universe smuggled by Mario Claudio's text, as well as the reflection to which such subversions lead, provoking a conscious reading of the importance of Marioclaudian work in the scenario of contemporary Portuguese literature.
