Abstract

The article discusses a research position that takes into account the natural and social particularities of the Amazon. Inferences explore the conception of modern science and scientific positions that can account for the particularities of the objects of study. By this approach it is necessary to overcome the ideas that conceive Latin America, and the Amazon in particular, as peripheries doomed to the consumption of theory and not to its production. In the end, the perception is presented that there is a need to take an inventive stance to account for doing research in the face of the most different realities that are configured in the region.

Sandro Adalberto Colferai, Universidade Federal de Rondônia

Doutor em Sociedade e Cultura na Amazônia, pela Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM); mestre em Comunicação Social pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS); especialista em Jornalismo e Mídia; especialista em Estudos Linguísticos e Literários; licenciado em Letras - Língua Portuguesa e Literaturas Brasileira e Portuguesa. Professor no curso de Jornalismo na Universidade Federal de Rondônia - UNIR, campus de Vilhena. Membro do Grupo de Pesquisas Mapa Cultural - Centro Interdisciplinar de Estudos em Cultura e Artes, Mapa Cultural (UNIR), do Grupo de Pesquisa em Processos de Comunicação - Pespcom (UFPA), e do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Ciências da Comunicação, Informação Design e Artes, Interfaces (UFAM). Tem interesses voltados para a pesquisa em Comunicação na região amazônica.
