Abstract

This article aims to address the author's trajectory in his scientific research in the area of ​​geoterritorial in the Postgraduate course in Geography at the University Campus of Porto Nacional. The text problematizes the theoretical method in the area of ​​Human Geography regarding the interpretation of the social reality established in the social space. The scientific method should not be treated from a disciplinary perspective, but an interdisciplinary one. There are no exclusive methods for certain sciences, and geographic science does not work with a single method. Historically, geographic science is characterized by methodological plurality. It is up to geographers to choose the theoretical method of their choice. It reports the trajectory of the theoretical and empirical research developed by the author during his work in the Master's in Geography in Porto Nacional and his expectations regarding the work of future scientific research in the course. The methodology used in the text was based on a bibliographic review and on an account of the author's empirical research.

Roberto Souza Santos, Federal University of Tocantins

Graduated in Geography, Master in Urban Planning from UnB-DF and PhD in Regional Geography from UNESP-Rio Claro SP. Associate professor of the Geography course at the University Campus-UFT of Porto Nacional-TO and permanent professor of the Master in Geography UFT Porto Nacional. Post-doctorate in human geography by the Institute of Socio-environmental Studies -IESA-UFG Goiania-GO. Member of the Center for Urban, Regional and Agrarian Studies - NURBA.
