Abstract

Introduction: The nutritionist's work in an outpatient clinic/office aims to prevent, control or recover from diseases, including chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The adoption of a technical-scientific protocol can contribute to standardized nutritional assistance, as well as better quality and efficiency of care. Objective: To develop a technical-scientific protocol for nutritional assistance for individuals with NCDs in an outpatient/office setting. Methodology: A literature review was conducted to develop the protocol according to the nutritional assistance phases. The instrument was sent as a digital form to 12 experts for content validation, using the Delphi method. The content validity index (CVI) that experts agreed to use was greater than 0.70. Results: 11 experts participated in all stages of validation. The protocol presented 19 sections with CVI > 0.70 in the first round of evaluation. Even so, it was sent to a second round and, after incorporating the new suggestions, it was validated with CVI > 0.91 in each section. Conclusion: Protocol developed with updated content based on scientific evidence, suitable for the stages of nutritional assistance in an outpatient/office setting, which can contribute to standardized nutritional assistance, optimization of time and resources in the conduct of nutritionists, as well as in the construction of favorable health outcomes and quality of life in NCDs.
