Abstract

Quilombola children represent the most vulnerable population group, they may present nutritional, growth and development deficits and a greater risk of acute morbidities. The objective was to analyze the health information of children from the remaining quilombola communities of Bequimão – MA. Cross-sectional study, with 143 quilombola children aged 5 to under 10 years old. The health records of 123 children were analyzed. Blood pressure was measured and a small blood sample was collected from each child for hemoglobin analysis. Data were collected using REDCap software and analyzed using RStudio. Data were obtained from 123 vaccination cards (86.0%). The proportion of children with a complete basic vaccination schedule was 21.1%. At the time of the survey, 78.3% did not yet fall within the age range for HPV vaccination. The prevalence of anemia was 11.4%. Regarding the P/E index, thinness is present in 5.6% and overweight in 9.8% of the children analyzed. Structural deficits were present at 4.9%. The blood pressure of 36.6% of the children was elevated. Vaccination status was evident with low adherence to COVID-19, tetraviral virus and HPV. There were changes in blood pressure and cases of iron deficiency anemia, but little change in anthropometric indices
