PUBLIC POLICIES AND LEGAL STANDARDS APPLICABLE TO THE RIGHT TO SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL IN THE CITY OF DOURADOS ESTATE OF MATO GROSSO DO SUL

Abstract

The right to adequate food is a basic human right whose realization is essential for the right to life. It originated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and it is the State's duty to guarantee the conditions for its implementation through public policies that guarantee access to sufficient and healthy food, taking into account environmental protection. In 2003, the Federal Government assumed the most effective commitments to food and nutrition security, through the construction of the Food and Nutritional Security agenda. The objective of this work was to identify the cartography of public policies applicable to the right to agroecological food in the city of Dourados/MS, comprising the activities of the National Food Security Policy. The methodology used was bibliographic research; analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and conducting open and semi-structured interviews. The interviews were conducted in Mato Grosso do Sul with: the president of the Municipal and Food and Nutritional Security Council of Dourados/MS; the former secretary of COMSEA-Dourados; the executive secretary of the Intersectorial Chamber for Food and Nutritional Security; a researcher in Public Health from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation and an agroecological producer from the Association of Organic Producers.
