The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of sucrose and sorbitol during the in vitro conservation of Pfaffia tuberosa (Spreng.) Hicken. Therefore, nodal segments derived from in vitro cultures were inoculated in a culture medium supplemented with sucrose concentrations (0, 20 and 30 g L-1) combined with sorbitol concentrations (10, 20 and 40 g L-1) plus the control treatment (30 g L-1 sucrose). The results showed the possibility to maintain of the P. tuberosa plants for a 120 days period under slow growth in a medium supplemented with 10 g L-1 of sorbitol, without sucrose.
