Evaluation of water quality in the stream mutuca in Gurupi County, Tocantins State, Brazil

Water quality can be assessed by several parameters that reflect its physical, chemical and biological characteristics (as defined by legislation). This researchaimed to evaluate physical and chemical parameters such as turbidity, dissolved oxygen (mgL-1), pH, temperature (° C) and conductivity (μScm-1). Were analyzed in five strategic points along the stream Mutuca with 4 replicates at each site at a distance of 5 meters between replicates. In comparison, turbidity and temperature showed no significant variance, while pH and dissolved oxygen have a coefficient of variance of 9.75% and 17.94%, respectively. The collection site features interferesin pH, electrical conductivity and dissolved oxygen. The environment of the basin of the stream Mutuca is influenced by human action.According to the parameters analyzed in the study, stream water Mutuca is feasible for human use after treated by the Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
