Indigestible meanings: clived subject and (re)founding discourse in Funk Melódico, by Caetano Veloso songwriter
Abstract
Abstract: The aim of this work is to do a discursive reading of the lyrics of the song Funk Melódico, by Caetano Veloso, launched in 2012 in his album named Abraçaço, which reveals, in the thread of the song discourse, the subjectivation process built by the subject and his positions taking. From the symbolic practice of French Discourse Analysis by Michel Pêcheux, followed by Eni Orlandi in Brazil, it will be shown how the song subject of Funk Melódico relates himself – through memory – with the founding discourses of masculinity (macho) and of Brazilian identity, sung in Brazilian popular music and in literature, and by positioning himself, in the discursive process, produces the effect of new (re)founding discourse.
