Daniel Arelli, a poet and philosopher from Belo Horizonte, has stood out in Brazilian
contemporary literary scene. In an interview granted to the researchers of the project “News
from Current Brazilian Literature: Interviews”, which consists of a mapping of Brazilian
Literature of the beginning of the 21st century from the perspective of the writers themselves,
the author gives his account on his own creative writing process, comment on the relation
between poetry and philosophy, assesses the reception of his work, and reflects upon aspects
pertaining to other ethical and aesthetical issues.
