In the early 2010's, a wave of social protests have erupted in different countries. By employing performances aligned with social media virai genres, these demonstrations have Consolidated the Carnivalesque aesthetic that characterizes the political narratives produced and shared by activists. Thus, this article reflects on the phenomenon of global mobilizations by analyzing six videos featuring activist performances inspired by the Star Wars universe. Produced in different mobilizations between 2010 and 2014, the videos were collected manually from YouTube and contextualized from the perspective of Media Studies.
