THE TOURISM REVALUING AND INTEGRATING HISTORICAL-CULTURAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL HERITAGE IN THE SOUTH-WESTERN AMAZON

Abstract

In the last decades the historical cultural patrimony of the southern portion of the Amazon comes to be valued by the public and private power as products for tourism offer and the development of regional tourism. The process is intensified after the conclusion of the Pacific Highway, connecting the region of the triple border of Brazil, Bolivia and Peru with Latin America by land, opening prospects for the development and integration of the regional and international tourism sector. The search to understand the relationship between historical and cultural heritage and the relationship with tourism in the State of Acre, looking at the potential and perspectives of tourism focused on historical and cultural heritage and the appreciation of its landscapes for tourism is the focus of this assay. The methodology in addition to the bibliographic review, referring to the topics analyzed and information in loco obtained from government agencies and experiences and field experiences made possible the conclusive analysis. The main results show that this border region, along with the valuable historical and cultural patrimony, is composed of archaeological sites, conservation units, religious festivals, rural and urban spaces and products, a list of attractions that are offered as a product for the consumption of tourism in every State of Acre and other emitting markets, enables the historical-cultural and territorial preservation existing there and protects it to some extent.
