Abstract

The following research aimed to investigate, through questionnaires, the use of water from the river Ribeirão Tranqueira by riparian residents, in which, visibly, it presents anthropic and pollution aspects. Thus, the work also proposed to know the vision of the same about environmental education and health. This research was justified by the need to know and to work environmental education with the residents of the region in order to avoid their contact with polluted water. The perception of the use of the river Ribeirão Tranqueira water by the riverside residents was carried out through the application of a questionnaire containing 15 closed and open questions. The questionnaire was assembled according to the norms of Likert-scale questionnaires, a model adapted from the Beliefs About Language Learning Inventory. A hundred questionnaires were applied with riverine dwellers to the river Ribeirão Tranqueira within the urban perimeter, or in farms / farms near the urban perimeter of the city of Guaraí. The results obtained with the application of the questionnaire evidenced the need to work environmental education with residents near the course of the river Ribeirão Tranqueira due to the use of visibly polluted water.
