Abstract

The purpose of this article is to develop a framework for research orientation on startups life cycles. Defined as companies that start their operations from a weak market position and with few resources, these enterprises receive outstanding attention in academic and business publications given its importance for the development and innovation of processes, products and services. Through bibliographic research, this current study aims to identify a convergent model which integrates innovation and development cycles published in academic literature with phases defined by Serviço Brasileiro de Apoio às Micro e Pequenas Empresas no Estado de São Paulo – SEBRAE-SP – used as a pathway orientation for the startup companies from birth to growth.
