Abstract

In this work an overview was made for the use of agrochemicals in cultivating pineapples produced in the central State of Tocantins and sold in free markets of city of Palmas, to verify the way that fruit is cultivated represents risk of contamination for workers handling these substances, to the environment or to the final consumer of the product. The study was conducted through interviews and questionnaires with closed questions, with 8 pineapple producers that sell their products in 6 free markets city. At the end of this work, it was found irregularities such as the use of active ingredients prohibited in Brazil and there is a lot of misinformation on the part of producers in use, handling and final destination of the packaging of these substances, leading to risk of contamination to the producers, environment and consumers of pineapple.
