Abstract

The object of study is the manifestations of climate risks in the urban landscape, with a view to identifying the areas most susceptible to the consequences of climate change. To this end, the aim is to evaluate parameters of “vulnerability”, “threat” and “exposure” in the central area of the city of Curitiba/PR, resulting in critical mappings and diagnoses for this territory. The methodology used is based on qualitative and exploratory research and through on-site visits, thematic maps and synthesis maps were created that favor the reading of the landscape. Thus, the areas most prone to climate risks in the urban landscape of the central area of Curitiba are recognized, with the aim of forming a critical notion of the necessary and pressing actions in the face of the climate crisis. Given that the urban landscape jointly materializes social, cultural, historical and environmental aspects, the recognition of areas more susceptible to climate risks is a first step towards more coordinated actions in a world in metamorphosis.
