FORMAÇÃO EM SERVIÇO SOCIAL: QUESTÃO ÉTNICO RACIAL EM DEBATE.

Abstract

The present work is the result of reflections that composed the research project for admission to the Graduate Program in Social Work at UFT. Which is a continuation of the studies carried out in the Course Completion Work - TCC of the graduation, in this sense it seeks to analyze the ethnic-racial debate in the training in Social Work in the Federal Academic Training Units - UFA of the northern region, following the regional division of the Brazilian Association of Teaching and Research in Social Work - ABEPSS, so the Social Work courses chosen for this study are from the Federal Universities of Maranhão,  Tocantins, Amazonas, Pará and Piauí. The proposal for qualitative analysis focuses on updating the data on the racial debate collected in the TCC and now including the indigenous debate, so it seeks to verify how the UFAs have been dealing with this theme in training. The interest in this debate develops from concerns about the exercise of professional practice, considering that the Brazilian social and cultural formation and the ethnic-racial discussion in society for a long time were not guidelines within the training in Social Work, in this sense, it arrives at the contemporaneity with a scarcity of theoretical and critical discussions on the ethnic-racial issue,  within the profession, posing several challenges to the understanding of the demands that reach the socio-occupational spaces of social workers, which require the understanding of social relations from the imbrication of social class, race/ethnicity and gender. In this essay that is published, the theoretical reflections are presented, the data will be published at the end of the research.
