Abstract

This article aims to identify and analyze, through a systematic literature review, the main impacts of the port area on mangrove ecosystem services. The methodology adopted involved searching electronic databases, including Google Scholar, Scopus and Periódicos CAPES, resulting in the selection of 28 publications from 2006 to 2023. The results indicate a lack of studies on mangroves in port areas, highlighting the need for greater attention to this area of research. The importance of the Regulatory Service was also highlighted, with the greatest emphasis among the articles analyzed, followed by Provisioning, Support and Cultural Services. The predominance of studies from China suggests a concentration of research efforts in high economic port regions, highlighting the need for a more equitable approach to ecosystem services research. It is concluded that, based on the literature analyzed, it is possible to understand the importance of mangroves in port areas, taking into account the conflicts generated by urban and industrial expansion that threaten their survival.
