Abstract

Vaccination is one of the most cost-effective interventions and has a considerable impact on the occurrence of diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor vaccination coverage and the vaccination profile of immunized children. The objective was to understand the epidemiological profile of vaccination coverage of children aged 0 to 12 months with a complete schedule in the city of Palmas-TO in the years 2020 and 2021. This is a descriptive, retrospective epidemiological study, with a quantitative approach that used a source of secondary data, coming from the BI-eSUS system and the SUS IT Department database. The vaccination coverage of immunobiologicals established in the first year of life was evaluated and the variables selected were: sex of the family member; age group, ethnicity/color; occupation and education level of the person responsible; urban or rural location and family income. As a result, the BCG vaccine was the only one that presented vaccination coverage greater than 95%, while the other immunobiologicals did not achieve the recommended vaccination coverage. Regarding the demographic profile, the highlights are completion of secondary education, family income between one and two minimum wages, female gender and the age group 30-39 years old. Therefore, better sociodemographic standards can contribute positively to vaccination adherence.
