Abstract

Arboviruses constitute a challenge for public health in Brazil, a reality intrinsically linked to social, climatic and environmental factors. In the last decade, the state of Tocantins has become an area of epidemiological risk for arboviruses, such as Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya. Objective: To analyze the spatial distribution of arboviruses transmitted by Aedes aegypti, correlating them with demographic, social and environmental data in Tocantins Method: This is an ecological study of Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya arboviruses in the state of Tocantins, carried out with cases likely to have occurred between the years 2015 and 2023, the epidemiological data were obtained through the Notified Diseases Information System and the State Department of Health. Result: Among arboviruses, a greater number of dengue cases were observed, with peaks in 2019 and 2022. The highest percentage of infection cases occurred in females; in the brown ethnicity; in the age group from 20 to 39 years old; among those with at most secondary education. Conclusion: Tocantins has multiple factors that contribute to the persistence of high numbers of arbovirus cases in the state. Therefore, it is necessary to have a single health approach and its multidisciplinary approach in developing strategies to control arboviruses.
