Abstract

This study aims to propose the Direct Planting System of Vegetables and Fruitful (DPSVF), as a tool for rural extension, in the Northwest Region of Paraná, where the Arenito Caiuá soil formation occurs, characterized by sandy soils. Due to these characteristics, fruitful and vegetable producers find it difficult to maintain regular production when using the conventional planting system. In this context, the DPSVF disseminated by the Institute of Rural Development of Paraná (IDR-Paraná), has been able to make the production of different crops viable. A survey was conducted with 10 family farmers who had adopted the technology, to evaluate the impacts caused by use of DPSVF in relation to conventional planting, as well as the improvements needed for the consolidation of the technology. It was found that for most of the factors evaluated there were advances with the adoption of the technique, providing economic and social gains for those involved. At the same time, the main limitations indicated by most producers are related to the unavailability of machinery and implements suitable for work in DPSVF. The knowledge of this reality allows the planning of actions to expand the use of the technique and seek solutions to the diagnosed limitations.
