Abstract

Cochlospermum regium is a medicinal plant native to the Cerrado and there are few chemical, agronomic and biotechnological studies on this species, in order to know the potential of this plant were isolated fifty-three endophytic fungi from the leaf and stem. The identification of endophytic fungi was performed using molecular characterization with sequencing of the ITS region. The endophytic fungi Coloriopsis rígida (Cr-1), Diaporthe inconspícua (Cr-10), Phomopsis sp. (Cr-32), Nigrospora oryzae (Cr-41), Diaporthe pseudoinconspicua (Cr-44) e Asordaria conoidea (Cr-8) were identified. All endophytes isolated showed antagonist activity against at least one phytopathogen of agronomic interest (Fusarium oxysporum, Curvularia lunata and Bipolaris oryzae). In the allelopathy test for volatile compounds, using lettuce seeds, the fungus Cr-32 inhibited 100% of seed germination in time 3. On the other hand, analyzing the seedling development, some fungi showed inhibition, Cr-16 with 40.80% inhibition at time 3, while other fungi stimulated its development, Cr-44 with 106.66% of stimulation at time 0. After cultivation of the endophytes in PDB medium and obtaining the crude EtOAc extracts, the presence of flavones, flavonols, xanthones, steroids and triterpenoids for all extracts was confirmed, in addition to confirming the antioxidant activity against DPPH also for all extracts.
