Abstract

The Family Health Expanded Nucleus was created in 2008, with the objective of expanding the scope of the Family Health Teams in the health services network. The objective was to assess the impact of the actions of the Expanded Family Health Center, from its implementation until 2017. This is a documentary study of historical series, quantitative and with an analytical approach. It was held in Foz do Iguaçu-PR, on the premises of the Epidemiological Surveillance and other points of the Health Care Networks in the municipality, namely: Primary Care Directorate, Specialized Care Directorate and Basic Health Units. Health System of Foz do Iguaçu. Of the Basic Health Units analyzed, 42.56% had assistance from the Expanded Family Health Center while 57.14% did not; the average number of referrals made by units without the Extended Family Health Center during this period was 66.11%, while in units with it was 36.94%. There is a statistically considerable difference between referrals from units with and without the Expanded Family Health Center within the same health district, pointing to a positive influence of the multidisciplinary team in the resolution of Primary Care.
