Financial re(education) of the families proposal by ICTs

Abstract

This paper describes a pedagogical intervention with the information and communication technologies (ICT's) to optimize the application of financial mathematics in the control, analysis of expenses, and investments of alternative income. The project will be developed at the “Caracol” settlement, Located in the municipality of “Formoso do Araguaia – TO”. Among all phases of this research are bibliographic research, on-site visits, elaboration and application of questionnaires, and organization of electronic spreadsheets. The ICTs will be used as tools in working with Financial Mathematics since problems related to financial calculations can be solved using technology, whether using electronic calculators or computational spreadsheets. From this perspective, we hope that from the financial re-education conceived by this project, the “Caracol” community can acquire as much knowledge as possible about financial education, financial mathematics, and the manipulation of technological tools, bringing solutions to the daily lives of these people.
