Potencial alelopático de extratos de plantas de cobertura na germinação e crescimento inicial de beterraba

Resumo

A alelopatia é um fenômeno biológico que pode ter aplicação prática no manejo de plantas daninhas em sistemas de produção agrícola; contudo, plantas cultivadas também podem sofrer efeitos de compostos alelopáticos. O objetivo dessa pesquisa foi verificar o potencial alelopático de extratos de plantas de cobertura na germinação e crescimento de plântulas de beterraba. A pesquisa foi realizada em delineamento inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 2x4 (estádio de desenvolvimento x concentrações dos extratos). As plantas de cobertura utilizadas foram: ervilhaca, azevém e centeio. Para ambas as espécies de cobertura as plantas foram coletadas e os extratos preparados com plantas em estágio vegetativo e reprodutivo. As variáveis analisadas foram: índice de velocidade de germinação, germinação, comprimento de parte aérea e de raiz e massa seca de parte aérea e de raiz de plântulas. Os dados foram submetidos a análise de variância, comparação de médias pelo teste de Tukey (p<0,05) para o fator estágio da planta de cobertura e análise de regressão para o fator concentração do extrato. Os extratos de centeio, azevém e ervilhaca interferem na germinação e crescimento de plântulas de beterraba. Os efeitos são variáveis em função da concentração e do estádio de desenvolvimento da planta utilizada para elaboração do extrato. De forma geral, poucos efeitos inibitórios foram observados.
