The use of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Beacons for attendance at the Superior da Magistratura Tocantinense school (ESMAT)

Driven by advancements in the Internet of Things (IoT), Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology has emerged as a highly effective solution for proximity-based automation. This paper proposes and validates an architectural model for automated academic attendance tracking using BLE beacons. The solution seamlessly integrates a mobile application and a RESTful API into the Academic Virtual Secretariat of the Escola Superior da Magistratura Tocantinense (ESMAT). Experimental results from a controlled environment demonstrate low detection latency, minimal energy consumption, and strong technical feasibility for institutional deployment. Ultimately, the proposed model modernizes academic management by reducing manual interventions and enhancing data reliability.
