Abstract

In this study, simulations of 5G technology coverage in Palmas/TO were carried out using MATLAB® software. The simulations were based on the station locations and the close-in propagation model. Two signal quality parameters were considered: Signal-to-Noise Ratio and Received Signal Reference Power, both above 13 dB and -80 dBm, respectively, indicative of quality connection. The antenna used for transmission was the half-wavelength rectangular microstrip, with copper patch and substrate FR4, in a 64x64 MIMO arrangement, and, in reception, a half-wave dipole antenna. The area with the best coverage was identified in the Southern Master Plan of Palmas. These results highlight the relevance of accurate simulations in evaluating the performance of 5G technology in urban areas.
