La imagen visual entre la verdad y la no verdad

The term "post-truth", of relatively recent use, emerged and was disseminated preferentially with reference to the ethical and, above all, political sphere. It points out – and therefore it is proper of a "postmodern" perspective – a space in which undifferentiation (including, at times, indifference) between truth and untruth prevails. This space is usually marked by the emotional rather than by the reason. My proposal is to think of the possible scope of the term in a field in which, by its own status, the sensitive has a determining role and in which, precisely for this reason, the question of truth has always been considered a thorny question: the aesthetic-artistic. I will take, for this, in particular, the visual, plastic and photographic manifestation that came about with the mandate to show the real – identifying it with the true – but which has gradually shown that the real / the truth comes to be, in definitive terms, unreachable.
