Development of an mHealth technology for prevention and mental health literacy among young college students

Abstract

The theme of this paper is the development of a mobile technology application for health promotion in the context of the Public University. This is an applied research that presents the stages of construction and designer of a mhealth technology. The work is guided by interdisciplinary theoretical reflection, covering fundamentals of communication, psychology and computing. Through the analysis of interviews and suggestions from students of the institution, a software project was built to prevent illness and promote mental health. The proposal is of fundamental importance and can contribute to the development of practices that mitigate mental suffering in the context of public Higher Education.

Alice Agnes Spindola Mota, Universidade Federal do Tocantins

Pós-doutoranda em Comunicação e Arte pela Universidade de Aveiro. Doutora em Antropologia pelo ISCTE (2016) com reconhecimento da UFPE (2017) possui graduação em Comunicação Social - Social pela Fundação Universidade Federal do Tocantins (2007), mestrado em Desenvolvimento Regional pela Fundação Universidade Federal do Tocantins (2010) e Formação em Estudos Avançados de Antropologia (2011). Integrante do grupo de pesquisa Comunicação, Direitos e Igualdade (CODIG) e coordenadora do projeto de desenvolvimento de tecnologia Mhealt Mais Um Dia.

Hareli Fernanda Garcia Cecchin , Universidade Federal do Tocantins

Possui graduação em Psicologia pelo Centro Universitário Luterano de Palmas (2012), mestrado em Desenvolvimento Regional pela Universidade Federal do Tocantins (2016) e doutorado em Psicologia Clínica e Cultura pela Universidade de Brasília (2022). Atualmente é psicólogo da Universidade Federal do Tocantins. Tem experiência na área de Psicologia, com ênfase em Psicologia Escolar e Educacional, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: prevenção do suicídio, logoterapia e análise existencial, saúde mental de jovens e gênero.
