Abstract

Brasília is a metropolis that presents several problems of social segregation mainly for economic reasons, which end up inhibiting the access of the population with less purchasing power to all spaces in the city. This condition has been present since the construction of the Federal Capital, and has serious consequences today. However, even carrying this trait of social segregation and conflict between social classes, accentuated even more by spatial factors, there is another side of Brasília that has been structuring itself in a more optimistic situation than the one where socioeconomic segregation and real estate speculation imposed rules on their residents. Even with the existing problems, mainly of a socioeconomic order, Brasília presents characteristics of inclusion, where it is possible to reflect and rethink the use and occupation of public spaces. Since then, a new occupation of spaces in the Capital has gained voice.
