Adegas cooperativas portuguesas: uma abordagem sistêmica

Resumo

Este livro é uma adaptação da minha tese de doutorado. Apresenta um modelo de capacidade organizacional, explorando os fatores ambientais que afetam o seu desempenho. Também apresenta um critério preliminar para avaliar a capacidade organizacional com base no modelo proposto. Cooperativas são organizações com características particulares. Além de compartilhar princípios e valores cooperativos, apresentam uma natureza dupla em seu propósito. As cooperativas têm uma dimensão econômica e social: são simultaneamente uma organização empresarial, sem fins lucrativos que pertencente aos seus associados e por eles é controlada democraticamente. O objetivo das cooperativas é maximizar o serviço e a satisfação dos seus associados. Indicadores financeiros por si só não são adequados para avaliar o desempenho das cooperativas, uma vez que estas não são tem fins fins lucrativos. Assim, o construto de capacidade organizacional, desenvolvido para avaliar o potencial das organizações sem fins lucrativos (OSFL) para atingir os seus objetivos, foi adaptado às cooperativas vinícolas em Portugal. Embora existam modelos de capacidade organizacional para OSFL, eles não se enquadram na realidade das cooperativas principalmente por causa de seu papel econômico. A metodologia da pesquisa foi qualitativa. As cooperativas foram selecionadas através de amostragem teórica, com o objetivo de atingir cooperativas que pudessem representar a diversidade do universo de 67 cooperativas vinícolas em Portugal em 2015. Foram entrevistadas 23 pessoas (associados e dirigentes) em 19 cooperativas vinícolas de diferentes regiões do país. O modelo de capacidade organizacional no ambiente das cooperativas vinícolas foi desenvolvido tendo em conta as categorias que emergiram dos dados. O modelo fornece uma visão sistêmica do ambiente da cooperativa vinícola e possui três conjuntos de categorias: associados, fatores ambientais e a própria cooperativa. As duas categorias que compõem este último conjunto são identidade cooperativa e capacidade organizacional.
