Abstract

Education aims at the full development of the individual, preparing them for the exercise of citizenship and their qualifications for the job market (BRASIL, 1988). From this perspective, it is understood that a child's comprehensive development encompasses cognitive and socio-emotional skills, given that today's society and job market demand individuals with the capacity for adaptation, socialization, and emotional control. In this context, this article presents the results of research that sought to investigate how Early Childhood Education teachers can stimulate the development of socio-emotional skills in children. Through an integrative review, the main foundations and concepts of socio-emotional skills were listed, and practical examples of activities that promote the development of these skills in children were presented. Due to the scarcity of content related to this topic in the field of Education, the research focused on the field of Neuroscience, specifically Early Stimulation, to analyze the object of study. The research demonstrated the importance of teaching skills from early childhood and allows us to conclude that early stimulation offers many proposals that help teachers identify the pedagogical potential of everyday play and develop new ideas for their teaching practice, focusing on experiences that address children's diverse learning styles.
