Quilombo Sambaquim, located in the municipality of Cupira, a small town in the countryside of Pernambuco, like many of the quilombola communities in the region, suffers from public delays, such as lack of resources and cultural devaluation. The dialogues inserted here are much more valuable than mere description. They are historical records of a people, which for a long time was silenced by the society of which it is a part. Our role as a historian is to carry out research, weaving the historical trajectory of this community, through its memories, traditions and oralities. Analyzing the quilombola community is taking a trip and venturing into their narratives, as it is through oral tradition that the knowledge of their ancestors is preserved. Therefore, our goal is to build the history of the Quilombo Sambaquim, through the valorization and appropriation of the narratives told by the members of the community as well as its historical legacy, making an analogy between its slave past, the history about its ancestors, and time community, in view of the contributions established in the construction of the identity and ancestry of its residents. We understand that traditions are of paramount importance for the preservation of the community's knowledge, so, at this point, it was essential because it is a unique base and comes straight from our biggest source of research: the information provided by quilombolas.
