As relações existentes entre mal e monstruosidade são vínculos que têm atraído a atenção de filósofos e teólogos desde a Antiguidade. Pertencem também ao inventário de tais reflexões as aproximações possíveis e realizadas, no decurso da história da arte, entre monstruosidade, metáfora e literatura. Os insights alcançados a partir da investigação do mal via discurso literário confirmam sua condição perene em nossa contemporaneidade. Por tal razão, apresentamos a tradução inédita, para a língua espanhola, do ensaio “Monstros como metáforas do mal”, publicado originalmente em 2007 pelo professor Julio César Jeha (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais – UFMG). A apresentação da tradução em espanhol, com prefácio também inédito, visa a conferir visibilidade ao referido texto teórico no cenário da crítica literária latino-americano.
